Managed Security Services

Managed security that sits between you and the vendor — permanently.

Most MDR providers pick a platform, wrap a service around it, and call it managed security. CyberCaddy is different: we evaluate the market, select the right Threat Detection & Response, Centralised logging, risk management and awareness platform for your tech stack. Locally implemented and managed by Cyber experts. Plain-English reporting.

What’s Included
Everything needed to detect, respond, and improve.
Continuous Threat Monitoring
24/7 ingestion across endpoints, network, cloud, and identity. No coverage gaps. No business-hours-only monitoring.
Rapid Incident Response
15-minute mean time to escalation. Defined playbooks for your sector. Human-led triage, not automated noise.
Security tools chosen for your stack
We evaluate the market and select the right logging, threat detection and risk management for your environment. We recommend the fit, not a default product.
Australian cyber consultants
Local, hands-on cyber consultants who understand your business and your attack surfaces — cutting through the noise to deliver clear cyber strategy.
Monthly security meeting
Ongoing threat mitigation, plus a review of where potential weaknesses lie and what to do about them — covering security operations, insights, compliance and strategy.
Upskilling of internal IT team
We work closely with your existing IT team or provider — QA of work completed, plus upskilling on cyber strategy, risk mitigation, and compliance.
The Problem

Most breaches aren't stopped by better technology. They're stopped by faster human response.

The average dwell time for an attacker in an Australian network is 16 days. During that time they're mapping your environment, escalating privileges, and staging their exit. Managed Security isn't a product — it's a discipline. Technology detects. People respond.

SOC doesn't equal Managed Security Services

Partial coverage, missed alerts, too many false positives — the conversation isn't about having a SOC. It's about having the right logging, coverage, threat detection, risk management and awareness program for your tech stack.

The alert fatigue problem

Legacy SIEM solutions are hindering internal IT teams from noticing the important initial indicators of compromise. Outsourced security operations, done properly, should be suppressing the noise — not adding to it.

A single locked-in SOC partner

IT service providers have one SOC partner for you to choose from, with no consideration for your tech stack — often hiding alerts and security intel to fit their needs, not yours.

What actually happens when a threat fires
Detection is the start. Response is the job.

Most managed security stops at the alert. Here’s what we do next — and what the typical alternative does instead.

01
Triage

A named analyst reviews the alert. Not a queue, not a script. Someone who knows your environment decides whether it’s real and what it means.

Typical alternative
An offshore queue triages dozens of alerts at once. Context-light, often delayed.
02
Escalate

You get a phone call, not an email. If it’s a real threat, we ring you directly — and we already know what we’re recommending you do next.

Typical alternative
An auto-generated ticket lands in a shared inbox. Your team interprets it.
03
Act

Containment, eradication, lessons learned. We don’t hand it back to you mid-incident. The playbook runs end-to-end, then we improve controls so it doesn’t happen again.

Typical alternative
Detection stops at “alert raised.” Containment is the customer’s problem.

We map your current environment, tooling, and risk profile. No assumptions.
02
Select
We recommend the MDR partner that genuinely fits — independent of vendor relationships.
03

Managed onboarding and integration. Your team stays focused on the business.
04
Operate
Ongoing monitoring, response, and quarterly reviews. We evolve with your environment.
How we’re different

Security that goes beyond MDR

Most mid-market IT teams don’t have a detection gap — they have a response and experience gap. Here’s where the alternatives fall short.

RecommendedCyberCaddy MSSAlternativeSIEM / SOCAlternativeGlobal MDRAlternativeIT provider
Who responds
Named Australian analyst. Calls you directly.
Your team — after decoding the alert.
Global support queue. Tier decides speed.
Your IT contact. Not a security specialist.
What’s included
MDR + CTEM + vuln management + monthly consulting
Log ingestion and alerts. That is it.
One platform. All add-ons cost extra.
A resold product bolted onto IT support.
TOOL SELECTION
The right tool for your environment, chosen on fit.
Locked in. Migration is costly and disruptive.
Tied to one ecosystem and roadmap.
Whatever the IT provider already resells.
Consulting
Monthly meeting + live roadmap. Included.
Out of scope entirely.
On the brochure. Extra SOW post-contract.
Security advice is incidental, not structured.
Risk management
Continuous CTEM and vulnerability management.
SIEM logs events. Advisory is a separate cost.
A periodic report. Not an ongoing service.
Rarely in scope for most IT providers.

Per-user. Predictable. No ingestion fees or hidden SKUs.
Data costs + licensing tiers stack up fast.
Multiple SKUs, add-ons and annual true-ups.

Before CyberCaddy, our digital security was a blind spot. They didn't just provide a service — they built a culture of resilience within our firm. Now I have total confidence our operations are protected.

Common Questions
Straight answers.
We already have antivirus and a firewall. Do we need MDR?
Antivirus blocks known threats. Firewalls restrict ingress. MDR detects the threats that get through anyway — and they always do. The question isn’t whether antivirus is good enough, it’s whether you can detect and respond to a breach within hours rather than weeks.
Will you lock us into a specific SOC provider?
No. We maintain relationships with multiple MDR providers across different price points and capabilities. You’re always contracted with CyberCaddy — not with the underlying platform. If your needs change, we change the recommendation.
Do you replace our current IT provider?
No. We sit alongside them. MDR and CTEM are our lane — patching, helpdesk, and infrastructure stay with whoever runs your IT. Where the two need to talk (an endpoint gets isolated, a patch is overdue and flagged as risk), we coordinate directly with them.
Where is our data, and who's actually looking at it?
Telemetry stays in-region wherever the platform allows it, and every analyst on your account is based in Australia. If a client needs data residency confirmed for a specific regulator or contract clause, we'll put that in writing.
How long does onboarding take?
Two to four weeks for most environments, from signed agreement to full monitoring coverage. Endpoint and identity sources go live first; log source tuning to cut down noise happens in the following few weeks.
What happens if you find an actual breach, not just an alert?
We isolate the affected host or account first, then call you — same call, no separate "notification" step days later. Containment actions are pre-agreed in your runbook so we're not asking permission mid-incident for the obvious moves.
Does this satisfy our cyber insurance or client due-diligence requirements?
For most Australian insurers, yes — 24/7 monitored detection and response is now a standard renewal question, and this covers it. If your policy or a client questionnaire needs specific wording confirmed, send it through and we'll check it against what we deliver.
Not sure if you need MDR or just think you do?
Start with a plain conversation. We’ll tell you what we think you actually need — even if it isn’t us.
